Spinning Frequently Asked Questions

Q What washing instructions / symbols should I attach to my wool garment?

A Most wool will felt / shrink if washed in water that is too warm and / or agitated too much. (Some wool such as superwash merino is machine washable.) Therefore, garments that you have mde from wool are best washed by hand in cool water.

I've written some instructions and made a set of symbols for you to copy and paste. (The symbols mean 'hand wash only', 'do not tumble dry', 'line dry' and 'do not iron')

100% wool
Wash and rinse gently by hand in lukewarm water
Squeeze out water between towels
Pull into shape and allow to dry naturally

Download a set of labels (Word doc) containing these instructions / symbols
