Using a niddy-noddy to wind a skein
A niddy noddy is a simple but essential tool. It helps you to wind a neat skein straight from your bobbin.
Wind the wool onto the niddy noddy as shown in the diagram, directly from the bobbin - there's no need to take it off the spinning wheel. Leave the brake tension lightly in place to prevent the bobbin over-spinning.
Before slipping the skein off the niddy noddy, loosely tie it with scrap yarn in three or four places to hold it in place.
