Knitting Socks with Handpainted Yarn by Carol Sulcoski
The introduction says that 'Knitting Socks with Handpainted Yarn' is aimed at those of us that have started to knit a pair of socks, only to rip them out because the colours don't work the way that we'd hoped. I can't remember ripping a pair out, but I certainly have been disappointed with unexpected results. I love knitting socks, and I love this book.
Combining her handdyeing and knitwear designing knowledge, Carol shares techniques and tips to help us turn out fabulous footwear. She doesn't go into dyeing, but she discusses different kinds of hand-dyed yarns, how to examine the yarn and choose the right pattern, how to avoid undesirable effects and create great ones.
