Ashford Standard flyer (Single drive)
This is Ashford's single drive standard flyer to fits Traditional or Traveller spinning wheels. Hooked arms and three ratios.
This would be a replacement if your original standard flyer has been lost or damaged, or if you want to upgrade an older one- or two-ratio wheel.
Takes standard bobbins (not included).
Ratios
Traditional: 6.5, 12.5 & 17.5:1
Traveller: 5.5, 10 & 14:1
Ashford Standard flyer and whorl (Double drive)
This is Ashford's double drive standard flyer to fit double-drive Traditional, Traveller and Elizabeth spinning wheels. Hooked arms and three ratios (third is achieved in single drive mode with irish tension).
This would be a replacement if your original standard flyer has been lost or damaged. To upgrade a single-drive wheel to double-drive requires more parts, which are all available as a kit - please contact me.
Note that older Ashford doble-drive wheels have a screw-on whorl. The screw-on whorl is unfortunately no longer available, so if you're missing that part, then this replacement flyer with whorl will fit.
Takes standard double-drive bobbins (not included).

Ashford Basic Jumbo Flyer Kit (Single Drive)
Jumbo version of the standard flyer. The large bobbin and orifice allow spinning chunky and novelty yarns or production spinning and plying.
Fits your single-drive Ashford Traditional or Traveller spinning wheel. I include: large 19mm(3/4in) orifice bearing, jumbo flyer, 1 jumbo bobbin. bearing reducer (for fast switching back to your standard flyer), orifice reducer, drive band, brake band, springs.
Ratios: 4.5:1, 9:1

This new Ashford Single Drive Sliding Hook Flyer fills your bobbin evenly with the squeeze and slide stainless steel yarn guides. Fits your Ashford Traditional or Traveller spinning wheel. High-speed whorl for standard double-drive flyers
This whorl gives your double-drive Traditional, Traveller or Elizabeth two higher ratios (three with bobbin-led) to spin finer yarns.
Actual ratios will depend on wheel, but on Traditional will give 14 & 17.5:1 (and 22.1 bobbin led)
Use with high-speed bobbins.
Lace Flyer Kit (Single drive)
A high-speed flyer for spinning ultra fine (laceweight) yarns. Fits single-drive Traditional or Traveller.
Ball bearings, 3 special bobbins. Individually balanced flyer with ratios of 15, 20, 30, 40:1. Small 7mm (5/16") orifice, 3 large core bobbins included. Also high-performance poly-cotton drive band and gentle cotton brake band.

Quill Spindle
The Great wheel and charkha are ancestors of our modern flyer wheels. Both used the same principle to spin and store the yarn. The wheel was turned by hand and the yarn spun off the point of a quill. Then the wheel is turned the opposite way to wind the yarn onto the spindle.
Fits Traditional, Traveller or Elizabeth wheels, single- or double-drive. Instruction leaflet included.

Ashford Freedom Flyer Kit for Joy wheels
Released allongside the Wild Carder This new flyer gives you the freedom to spin your wild carder batts into fancy / art yarn on your Joy spinning wheel.
With the enormous 25mm (1in) orifice and hooks you can spin and ply fibres with added extras such as feathers, fabric, ribbons. The open hooks make threading super fast and easy.
The kit includes one jumbo bobbin and will fit all existing Joy spinning wheels. Additional jumbo bobbins available separately.

Kiwi Sliding Hook Flyer Kit
Add to your Kiwi the benefits of sliding hooks, three ratios and larger capacity bobbins. The sliding hooks allow you to fill your bobbin more evenly, and the bigger bobbins allow you to spin or ply more per bobbin.
This kit comes with one new large-capacity (90mm) bobbin.

Kiwi Jumbo Sliding Hook Flyer Kit
Spin chunky or novelty yarns with the large orifice and bobbins. The kit contains a jumbo sliding hook flyer, one jumbo bobbin, front upright and bearing, new brake band, drive band, orifice reducer bush and bearing reducer bush.
The orifice reducer bush allows you to spin finer yarns while still using your jumbo flyer. The bearing reducer bush allows you to easily and quickly change flyers from jumbo to standard without having to change your upright.
