Lazy Kates and other plying tools
Items are in stock and ready to go first class unless it says otherwise.
Ashford Competition Lazy Kate
Designed for fast plying, the Competition Lazy Kate was inspired by speed events such as the Back to Back Wool Competition.
Adjustable brake tension and smooth stainless steel yarn guide to prevent your yarn from tangling. Bobbins are quick and easy to change. Convenient carry handle. Four rubber feet prevent slipping or tipping. Stainless steel bobbin pins are removable for storage and transport. Made from beautiful Silver Beech hardwood with a rich lacquer finish.
Takes three bobbins (standard or jumbo, single or double drive bobbins - sold separately).
"fantastic! I've only ever used the built in one on my ashford traveller before, and the new one has made such a difference!" - Sarah
Great gift!

Horizontal lazy Kate - Ashford Elizabeth, natural finish
Ply your yarn quickly and neatly with a lazy kate.
Takes three bobbins (standard or jumbo, single or double drive bobbins - sold separately).
Andean (Peruvian) plying tool
This tool is a substitute for your hand when andean plying. If your middle finger loses circulation, or if you have trouble pulling the singles off your finger, then this tool will make things easier and more comfortable.
Wind the yarn around the tool in the same way that you would wind it around your thumb, middle and litte fingers. Then simply join your two ends, pull out the peg and ply using your wheel or spindle.
Handmade in Wales, French polish finish.
Ashford Yarn Guage
Measure your yarn in wraps per inch (WPI) or half-inch. Simply wrap your yarn evenly in the appropriate slot and count the number of threads.
Comes lacquered with a leather loop and yarn weight guide.
