Ashford Drum Carder

Ashford Drum Carder The Ashford drum carder has two ratios for flexibility and control when carding and blending. 6:1 for preparation, 4:1 for blending.

Adjustable drum clearance. All nylon bearings ensure it is light and easy to turn. The card cloth has wire teeth with a special protective coating and a flexible rubber backing for long life. The carder is strong and robust with the body made from Silver Beech hardwood. The carder has rubber feet to prevent it slipping. Card 50 gm (2oz ) at a time quickly and efficiently.

Includes: Awl/doffer, 2 clamps and carding instructions. Batt size 55cm x 23cm (22ins x 9ins) - Weight only 5kg (11lb). It comes assembled and lacquered ready to use.

The carder is available with fine (72pt) or coarse (36 pt). I recommend the fine (72pt) unless you want to process heavily-matted or very coarse fibre.
